About the Beethoven reference site

This site has been an on going project for many years. My interest in Beethoven started at an early age when in 1977 I started researching his life and music with the view to publishing a book that never materialised for various reasons. Much of that information now forms the basis of this website which itself has undergone several incarnations. The site was first launched in 2000 under a different domain and I was fortunate in coming into contact with Christpher Graye who kindly offered to set up a forum which is still going strong today with many of the original members. Then some years ago Jürg Bücher contacted me with a view to translating the site into German. For this he created a new design and although he soon withdrew the German version I decided that his design was too good to lose and I have adapted it for this new version of the Beethoven reference site.
